Brought my camera to Granite Run Mall last Saturday and ended up putting it away

I always take tons of photos at dead malls, but at Granite Run in Pennsylvania I saw a old lady crying in the food court by the dried up fountain. She told me she met her husband there in 1987 before it went under. So I just sat with her for 20 minutes instead of snapping pics. Has anyone else had a moment at a mall that made you forget about the photos?

Granite Run Mall closed in 2015, not 1987.

Wait, are you sure about that? I could have sworn it closed way earlier too. I mean, I grew up in that area and remember going there with my friends in high school during the early 2000s, and it was already looking pretty rough by then. What worked for me was double-checking the dates on Wikipedia or old news articles, because my memory totally got fuzzy on it over the years. It's wild how our brains just blend timelines together, especially with places that fade out slowly like that. I guess the stores started leaving one by one long before the actual doors locked for good.
