Found an old diner menu in a dead mall's empty food court, tried making the meatloaf at home and my family loved it.

That old menu in the dead mall, was it the real treasure you brought home?

People get real worked up about what's worth saving and what isn't, but the simple truth is good food doesn't care what year it comes from. It's funny how we're so quick to throw away everything old just because it's old, when half the stuff we buy new today is way worse quality.

Disagree completely because that old menu just traps you in the past. Those recipes were probably loaded with cheap fat and salt, the kind of cooking we moved away from for good reason. Finding value in a dead mall's leftover trash feels like celebrating failure. Your family might love that meatloaf now, but you're just bringing back the same bad habits that made the mall die in the first place. Progress means looking forward, not trying to revive things that were left behind to rot.
