I finally learned to spot the 80s design clues in dead malls.
Took some time, but now I can guess a mall's era from the tiles. Feels awesome to have this new eye for detail.

I wish I had that skill. I still can't tell the difference between 80s tiles and just dirty floors, you know?

But honestly, is it even that big a deal if you can't tell? Most people just see a floor and don't overthink the decade it came from. We might be overcomplicating something that's just about cleaning or style.
