Staring at the empty fountain at the old Tri-County Plaza made me think about time differently

I was taking a picture of the dry basin, full of leaves and old pennies, and it hit me that this place was built to be busy forever... but it wasn't. Now I take a minute to just look at the quiet spots in my own town before they're gone. Anyone else have a mall feature that just stopped you in your tracks?

Ever see one of those dead escalators in a closed wing? It's just a weird metal staircase now. I took a photo of one next to a "Summer Fun Sale" sign from like 2008, all faded. It's the perfect picture of failure. Tyler368 gets it, it's everywhere. My local place has a food court where the only thing left is a sad pretzel stand and six empty fountains.
