Found a box of floppy disks from 1999 in my attic

Pulled them out last Sunday after a rain leak made me check storage. Three of them still worked in my old USB drive, had a half-finished pixel art of a dragon on one. Anyone else ever find old digital stuff that actually survived?

1999 pixel art survived a rain leak but half my modern cloud backups have corrupted files. Sounds about right for technology progress. Guess that dragon was determined to stick around.

Wait, you're telling me you had an actual leak on a computer from 1999 and the art on that machine survived? What kind of stone age hard drive did you have that just shrugged off water damage like it was nothing? Meanwhile my cloud backups from last year are full of broken files that won't even open, makes you wonder what we're even paying for. That dragon pixel art must have been built tougher than anything we make now.

Heard those old drives were way more resilient cause they didn't cram data as tight as modern ones do.
