Found my old Palm Pilot at my mom's place, the stylus still smells like the 90s

My mom was clearing out her closet last weekend and handed me a dusty Palm Vx from around 1999. I plugged it in out of pure nostalgia and it actually powered up after a few hours on the charger. The grayscale screen still had my old contact list, including my high school girlfriend's number and a to-do item that just said 'call Dave about the mixtape'. What got me was the graffiti input, I still remembered the stroke for 'L' within two seconds. It made me think about how my phone now does a thousand things but I can't even remember my own PIN without glancing at my thumb. I spent the next hour just reading old memos about cheap CDs and homework deadlines. Do you ever dig up an old device and feel like a time traveler, or is it just me? What's the oldest thing you've powered on recently?

That bit about the graffiti input got me, I had a Handspring Visor back then and I can still do the stroke for 'E' without thinking about it. But the weirdest part was finding a voice memo I recorded of me practicing a song for a school talent show, my voice sounded exactly like my nephew does now. I ended up texting my old high school buddy a blurry picture of the screen with his name still in there, and we spent an hour laughing about how dumb we were.
