Rant: My 2003 iPod Mini finally gave up the ghost yesterday

It wouldn't charge no matter what cable I used, so I pried it open with a butter knife and found the battery all swollen and crusty, anyone know if there's a place that still sells replacements for these things?

Oh man that sucks! Actually though, just a heads up - the 2003 iPod Mini wasn't actually released in 2003. The Mini came out in 2004. I remember waiting in line for one when they dropped. But yeah, the battery thing is a pain. You can still find replacement batteries on eBay or ifixit, I've swapped a few out myself. The trick is making sure you get one that matches the specific model number on the back, because there were two different Mini versions with different connectors. Also check out the r/ipod subreddit, those guys are wizards with these old things and can probably point you to a reliable seller.
