I finally figured out why my truck kept overheating after a coolant flush
Overheard a guy at the parts counter say the thermostat gasket can swell if you use the wrong coolant. Swapped mine out with a new one last Wednesday and the temp gauge has been dead center ever since. Anyone else had this happen with a certain brand of coolant?

Man, that is such a relief to hear! Swelling gasket makes total sense now that you mention it, I've had the same headache with my older F-150 after a flush. Took me three trips to the parts store to finally figure it out, so I feel your pain on that one. Something about off-brand coolant just doesn't sit right with some engines, I guess. Glad you got yours sorted, those overheating issues are the worst kind of stress to deal with in the driveway.
