I finally got that 6.0 Powerstroke's persistent no-start issue solved after my old foreman insisted it was just a bad FICM.
Turns out the guy at the NAPA counter was right when he told me to check the IPR screen for debris first, which saved me a $1200 part swap and an afternoon of cussing.

Classic case of the parts cannon versus actually diagnosing the problem. Your foreman was ready to launch a whole FICM at it, but the NAPA guy had the right call. Lily_gonzalez68 is totally on point, you gotta check the simple stuff first. Bet your old boss has a garage full of perfectly good parts he swapped for no reason. Always listen to the counter guy who actually wants to save you money.

Ha, "always start with the cheap stuff." Tell me about it. I've been that guy who swapped a $400 part just to find out it was a $15 sensor. My ex boss used to call me "the parts cannon" because I'd just fire expensive stuff at a problem until it stuck. Learned that lesson the hard way, usually with my OWN wallet. Now I feel like a genius when I fix something with a can of contact cleaner or a new fuse.
