My boss said to check the lift pump first, saved me a whole day

Had a 6.7 Powerstroke with a no-start. I was ready to pull the injectors. My boss, old guy named Frank, just said 'check the lift pump pressure before you do anything stupid.' He was right. It was at 2 psi, not 55. Bad pump. Fixed it in an hour. Anyone else have a boss with that one go-to piece of advice that always works?

Listen to the old guys who've seen it all before. They've already made the expensive mistakes so you don't have to. That saved time is pure profit.

My uncle ignored a seasoned mechanic and blew his engine on a road trip. Cost him three grand and a ruined vacation. Sometimes free advice is the most valuable thing you can get.
