Question about those injector cleaning machines everyone swears by

I spent 3 years telling guys at the shop that those ultrasonic injector cleaners were a waste of cash. Finally broke down and bought a used one from a shop in Cleveland for $400 when nothing else would fix a rough idle on a 6.7 Powerstroke. Two cycles through that machine and the truck ran smoother than it had in years. Has anyone else had a tool they were dead wrong about that actually saved their bacon?

The study that came out of UC Berkeley last month really flipped my switch on this too @grayt46. I was reading about how their pilot program showed a 40% drop in repeat offenders over a two year period. That number stuck with me because it's not just some random stat, it's real proof that something is working. My cousin actually works in that field and he was telling me about the ripple effects it has on the whole community. Once I saw how the numbers backed up what he was saying, I couldn't ignore it anymore. It's funny how one solid piece of data can change your whole view on something.
