Seeing a lot of guys skip the oil cooler flush on 6.0 Powerstrokes
I keep pulling engines where the EGR cooler is already shot again after a replacement... The root cause is almost always a clogged oil cooler they didn't clean. The back pressure cooks the new cooler in weeks. Watched a shop in Dallas do three in a row before they figured it out. How do you guys make sure the whole system is clear before buttoning it up?

Read somewhere you gotta pressure test the coolant flow, @white.harper, not just look at it.

Forgot to mention the heater core. If you don't loop it out during the flush, all that junk you stirred up just moves downstream and blocks things up again.

You mentioned the back pressure cooks the new cooler. What's your go-to method to actually test the coolant flow after the flush? Just a visual check, or do you run something specific?
