Worst week I've had in 10 years of working on trucks

Last Wednesday I was swapping a transmission on a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia and the damn thing slipped off the jack. Broke my left big toe and cracked the bell housing. Then on Friday a customer argued with me for 20 minutes about a oil leak I fixed that turned out to be a loose drain plug he messed with. I lost about 8 hours total that week between the injury and the back and forth. Has anyone else had a week where everything just went sideways for no good reason?

Big toe injuries are no joke. That pain alone will wreck your whole week. Had a trans come off a jack on me once too, lucky I just got a bruise. Only thing that saved me was buying a safety stand that locks onto the trans pan rails. Worth every penny for the peace of mind. For the customer stuff, start taking pictures of everything before and after you touch their truck. Makes those arguments end real quick when they see their own mess on your phone.

You ever busted a knuckle on a bellhousing bolt in a tight spot? Feels like you earned that one. For trans work I always bench bleed the cooler lines too before I fire it up. Saves you a headache of air getting in the valve body. And yeah pictures are the only way to win those fights, I keep a folder for each job just in case.
