My iPad Pro pen just stopped mid-stroke on a 6 hour digital painting yesterday

I was 4 hours into a portrait commission for a client in Portland... using Procreate on my iPad Pro. Pen just quit responding in the middle of shading an eye. I tried restarting the app, reconnecting bluetooth, even charged the pen for 20 minutes. Nothing worked until I took the tip off and cleaned out a tiny bit of lint with a toothpick. I lost about 45 minutes of work because I didn't save. Has anyone else had their Apple Pencil just die like that mid-project?

Oh man, that tip cleaning trick saved me too. I had this happen once while sketching at a coffee shop in Austin and I panicked for a solid 10 minutes before I thought to check the tip. Now I keep a little pack of sewing needles in my tech pouch just for digging lint out of that thing.
