My tablet pen died right before a big client review

I was finishing a character design in my home studio in Austin, about to export the final file. The pen just stopped working, no pressure, nothing. I had 20 minutes until the Zoom call. I grabbed my old backup pen, but its tip was worn down and the lines looked awful. I ended up screen-sharing the rough sketch file and explaining my color plan with my mouse, which actually got them more excited about the process. Has anyone else salvaged a review when their main tool failed?

Okay but is it really that big of a deal? It's just a pen. I keep a spare in my bag and it's never felt like a life or death thing. Seems like you're planning for a tiny problem like it's a major crisis.
