Overheard a client at the gallery call digital art 'just pushing buttons'
I was setting up for a show last month and this guy was looking at a really detailed piece, telling his friend it took no real skill. The artist spent over 80 hours on that one painting, doing all the line work by hand on a tablet. How do you even start to explain the work that goes into this stuff to people who don't get it?

Honestly that "just pushing buttons" line makes me so mad. Tbh I had a family member say the same thing about my friend's animation work. They don't get that the tablet is just a tool, like a brush. You still need all the skill to draw the lines and pick the colors. Ngl it's like saying a photographer just pushes a button.

Yeah mary836, it's more like a photographer choosing the shot and lighting, not just the button.
