Went to a gallery in Portland and the digital art setup was a mess
I stopped by a small gallery show last week in Portland that was supposed to be all digital art. Half the screens were set at different brightness levels and one was literally just a laptop sitting on a crate. If you're gonna charge people $15 to walk through, at least calibrate the displays or mount them properly. Has anyone else seen a show where the presentation totally ruined the art?

I mean, "a mess" seems a bit dramatic. So one laptop was sitting on a crate, big deal. It's a small gallery, not the MOMA. They probably spent their budget on the actual art, not fancy mounts. And different brightness levels? That's just like, your opinion man. Maybe the artist wanted it that way. I've seen way worse at big shows where the stuff was literally just taped to the wall with painter's tape. It's Portland, half the fun is the janky DIY vibe.

People get weirdly defensive about obvious jankiness like it's a personality trait.
