That one guy on a forum who said my 10,000 Steam screenshots folder was 'hoarding'

Honestly, I still think about this random dude from r/steamscreenshots back in 2019. He commented on my post showing off my folder full of screenshots from every game I played, and he was like 'why do you keep all those, they're just clutter'. I had to explain that each one marks a specific moment - like that 3 AM Borderlands 3 run or the time I finally beat a boss after 12 attempts. Has anyone else had someone just not get why you hold onto digital stuff like that?

Man I feel this one hard. I used to have a similar thing with old game saves and mods, people would tell me to clear them out. What finally helped me was just sorting everything into folders by year or by specific game so it feels more organized and less like a junk drawer. That way when someone asks why I still have a save file from 2015 I can just point to the folder and say "look, it's a time capsule not a hoard." The other thing that worked was making a simple spreadsheet with short notes about each batch, like "beat Malenia after crying for an hour" or "found a glitch that broke the whole map." Then it's more of a scrapbook than a pile of files. Honestly your screenshots are YOUR memories, nobody else has to get it. Let them be confused while you relive that 3 AM run whenever you want.

Organized chaos is still chaos, but at least it's your chaos.
