That week I lost 400GB of mods because of one stupid Windows update
Let me tell you about last Tuesday. Windows 11 did one of those forced updates overnight. Next morning, my external drive with all my Skyrim mods, Fallout 4 overhauls, and about 200GB of random texture packs just showed up as unallocated space. No warning, no option to roll back. Just gone. I had been telling myself for 3 years I'd organize that mess into a proper mod manager. Never did. Now it's all dust. Has anyone else had an update nuke their hoard like this?

Feel into that pain, man. I had almost the same thing happen with my Cities: Skylines asset folder last year, lost a whole city I'd spent like 80 hours on because Windows decided to mess with my Documents folder overnight. And yeah, patricia_king23 you're totally right, I should have split it across two drives or at least kept a list, but I kept telling myself I'd clean it up "next weekend." Now I just keep a little notepad file on my desktop with all my must have mod names, just in case the universe decides to nuke my hard drive again.

Come on man, external drives and Windows updates are a gamble you've gotta plan for. I split my mods across two drives and keep a backup list of my essentials just in case. Did you ever try backing up to the cloud with a service that handles large files?
