Coworking space memberships in Chiang Mai - helpful or a cash sink?
I dropped $300 on a month at Punspace and loved the networking but my buddy paid $80 for a local cafe spot and says he gets more done. Which side you on - fancy desks or cheap coffee shops?

Oh hell yeah, this is the real question nobody talks about. Your buddy's $80 cafe setup is probably killer for pure focus because the background noise keeps you from hearing your own thoughts. But here's what I'd be asking - did you actually get any real business leads or just a bunch of "hey we should grab a beer" contacts that went nowhere? Because that $300 might be worth it if you walked away with one client who paid the rent. Or was it mostly just yoga instructors and digital nomads trading life advice? I'd drill down on what the actual return was before you throw another month at either option.

...so my buddy Dave paid $70 for a month at a place called The Hideout last year and swears by it. He said the wifi was solid, he could nurse a iced coffee for four hours without anyone giving him a look, and he met way more people just chatting at the counter than he did at WeWork back home. Then he tried a coworking space for a week, said it felt like a silent library where everyone was too busy being important to actually talk. Guess it depends if you want to network or just get your work done without someone selling you a course.
