Coworking space vs coffee shop for 6 months in Chiang Mai

I spent my first 3 months in Chiang Mai working from coffee shops. Saved about $150 a month but the internet was hit or miss and I always had to buy something. Finally tried a coworking space called Punspace for $100 a month. Way better wifi, free water, and I got more done in less time. But I did miss the random conversations with locals at the coffee shops. Has anyone else switched back and forth and found a middle ground that works?

Got a buddy who tried both in Chiang Mai last year. He did coffee shops for a month then switched to Punspace and ended up buying a day pass to a coffee shop every Friday just to get his social fix. Said the coworking space was way too quiet for him, like a library with laptops. The coffee shop regulars started remembering his order after a few weeks, that was the part he missed. His middle ground was working from the space Mon-Thu then camping out at a spot called Ristr8to on Fridays for the buzz. Worked for him but he's also the type who can't sit still for more than 45 minutes.

Did you find Punspace had enough quiet spots or was it all open desk chaos?
