Overheard a guy in a Chiang Mai cafe say 'the nomad thing is just a vacation you can't afford to end'
It's been stuck in my head for days, because honestly, some months it feels true when the freelance work dries up. Anyone else ever get that creeping feeling?

Look at it as building a different kind of life, not running from a bad one. That dry spell forces you to get creative and find new clients you never would have back home. The freedom to have a bad month in Chiang Mai beats a good month in a cubicle any day.

But what if my bad month in Chiang Mai is just me eating instant noodles and crying?

Honestly that sounds pretty rough though. Eating instant noodles alone in a new place can feel really isolating, not freeing. A bad month in a cubicle at least means you can afford groceries and see your friends. Sometimes the dream sells you on the highs but forgets how low the lows can get.
