Pro tip: a power cut in a Chiang Mai cafe showed me my work setup was all wrong

I was in the middle of a big client call at a spot on Nimman Road when the whole block lost power for over an hour. My laptop battery was at 15%, my phone hotspot was slow, and I had to ask to borrow a stranger's power bank. It made me see that my whole 'work from anywhere' plan was built on shaky ground. What's your go-to backup plan for when the wifi or power just quits in a new city?

Oh man, that's the universe giving you a free systems check. My backup plan is basically turning into a tech pack mule. I keep a giant power bank that could jumpstart a small car, and I have a cheap second phone on a different network just for hotspot fails. You learn this after the first time you're scrambling in a silent cafe like your laptop just betrayed you.

Big deal. It's a cafe, not a hospital. You had a bad hour. Carry a real power bank next time. People act like the world ends without wifi. Go sit in your hotel lobby. Problem solved.
