Question about a chat I had in a Lisbon cafe
I was working from a small cafe in Lisbon last month, and a guy at the next table saw my setup. He told me he'd been a nomad for 8 years and said, 'The goal isn't to see the most places, it's to find the place that feels like home for a while.' That really hit me, because I've been rushing through cities every few weeks. Do you think he's right, or is the constant movement the whole point?

Yeah, that tracks. I see a lot of people burn out on the chase itself. They're so busy trying to hit ten countries in a year that they never really settle into a local rhythm anywhere, like learning the baker's name or having a regular spot. The guy in the cafe is onto something, it's about depth, not just checking boxes.

Exactly, my best trips were the slow ones.
