That co-working space in Chiang Mai with the fake power outlets almost cost me a deadline

Ngl I was stoked to find a cheap desk at a place near Nimman for like $8 a day. Turns out half the outlets near the window were just decorative faceplates with no wiring behind them. My laptop died at 2pm during a client call and I had to scramble to a 7-Eleven to finish. Has anyone else run into fake outlets at these budget spots?

and honestly that fake outlet thing is just like all the other "good enough" shortcuts people take everywhere these days. like when you buy a cheap power bank that says 20000mAh but really only gives you one full charge before dying. or those budget hotels that list "free wifi" but it cuts out every 10 minutes. we're all just out here trying to save a buck and getting burned by stuff that looks real on the surface but is basically a scam. the whole system feels designed to trick you into thinking you got a deal when really you just paid for a lesson.

8 bucks is cheap though, you kinda get what you pay for.
