That coworking space in Bali I wasted $600 on

Back in 2019 I booked a month at a popular coworking space in Canggu called Dojo Bali, thinking it would be this amazing networking hub. Turns out the wifi was slower than my phone hotspot and I spent half my time hunting for a quiet corner because it was so loud. I lost about $600 on the membership plus the overpriced coffee they pushed on everyone. Has anyone else fallen for the hype of a "famous" nomad spot that just wasn't worth it?

Take that whole experience as a lesson learned about checking wifi speeds before you book.

Totally get where you're coming from. What worked for me was actually asking the host about the wifi speed before I even booked, and they were super honest about it being pretty slow. Ended up switching to a different place that had fiber optic, which made my whole trip way less stressful for work calls. Checking the reviews for mentions of "internet" or "wifi" also helped me dodge a few bad ones.
