Update: Bali neighbor mistook my video calls for spy meetings
My neighbor in Bali saw me on video calls at odd hours and was sure I was a spy. He began leaving me random objects like a broken compass and a map with X marks, thinking they were clues. What funny misunderstandings have you had with locals while working abroad?

Was it just the broken compass or did they leave other weird stuff too... like a map with a corner torn off or a key that doesn't fit any lock. That's the kind of detail that makes it seem like a real threat and not just a bad joke.
