Can we talk about how long it takes to fix a stuck window?
I thought my old kitchen window just needed a little push, but the sash was completely painted shut. I spent three hours just chipping away at the paint with a putty knife and a razor blade. My neighbor said to try a heat gun, but that took another hour and I almost cracked the glass. Has anyone else found a better way to deal with this without taking the whole frame apart?

Honestly, you're making it way too hard. Just take the frame apart, it's the right way to do it.

Did you try using a candle to lubricate the track after you got it unstuck? My neighbor @roseb47 swears by waxing the channels, but I found out the hard way that paraffin wax makes your kitchen smell like a sad birthday party for three days. Just something to keep in mind while you're elbow deep in window carnage.
