Had doubts about those rubber mulch bags for the playground, but they held up through a whole Michigan winter without fading.

Figured the cheaper stuff would just wash away after the first freeze, but my daughter's been out there every day since April and the color still looks decent. Has anyone tried it for garden paths instead of real mulch?

I read somewhere that the rubber stuff actually keeps weeds down better than regular mulch because it doesn't break down and give them something to grow in. For a garden path I bet it'd be great, just make sure you put a weed barrier under it cause nothing is perfect.

Yeah three years in with rubber mulch on my own garden path and zero weeds so far. I'd say @rosejackson is right on about the weed barrier though, I skipped it in one spot and now I'm picking stuff out of the cracks every spring. Put the fabric down and you're golden.
