Heard my neighbor say he hired someone to hang a single picture for $75. Made me think about how we used to just grab a hammer and a nail.

Grab a pack of those 3M Command picture hanging strips. They're a game changer for renters or if you're worried about hitting a stud or pipe. I put up a whole gallery wall with them last weekend. For a heavy frame, use a proper anchor and a nail, but for most stuff, those strips are foolproof and leave no marks. Saves you the cash and the hassle of finding a stud.

Ever notice how we're all just trying to avoid making permanent holes in things now? @thea_campbell22 is right about those strips, it's like we're all in temporary mode, even with stuff we own. I see it with furniture that snaps together and phone cases you can swap out. Makes you wonder if we're scared of committing to a wall or just to anything.

Read something the other day about how this all ties back to the gig economy and people moving a LOT more than they used to. The average person moves like every 4 years now, which is nuts compared to our grandparents who stayed in one house for decades. Makes total sense why you'd want everything to be peel-off-able when you're just gonna pack it up again in a few years anyway. I think we're all just waiting for the next phase of our lives to start.
