The trick was just reading the manual front to back, which I only did after three hours of trying to make it work. My stubbornness cost me a whole afternoon. You ever spend so long fighting with a simple setting that you feel like a genius when you finally find it? Turns out the "quick start" guide skipped the one page that actually mattered.

oh man @simon_davis i did the exact same thing with my wifi extender last month. spent like 2 hours restarting it and moving it around my house before i gave up and actually read the setup part of the manual. felt like such a dummy when i saw it was just a button i had to hold down for 10 seconds lol
