My 90 year old house finally got its original wooden windows back

Bought this place in 2019 and it had those cheap vinyl replacements from the 80s. They were fogged up and one wouldn't even stay open. Spent about 6 months on and off restoring the original double hung windows I found in the basement rafters. Stripped 12 layers of paint off each one, replaced the cords, and reglazed all the panes. Anyone else tackled window restoration in an older house and found it worth the time?

Man that is a lot of work but totally worth it in the end. I helped my buddy do his 1920s bungalow a couple years back and we found five layers of paint on the sashes. It took forever but the windows slide way better than the replacements ever did. You also get the original character back which is hard to beat with modern stuff. Glad you stuck with it through all that stripping and glazing because not many people would.

Man I feel that @evan_morgan81! I did the same on my own place last summer, all those layers of paint are a nightmare but once you get through them the windows just glide. There's nothing like seeing the old wavy glass and original wood back to life, modern stuff just doesn't have that feel. Have you tackled any other original features that were worth the hassle?
