My bathroom vanity drawer fell apart yesterday morning
Honestly, the whole bottom panel just dropped out when I pulled it open to get a towel. I tried to fix it with some wood glue and clamps, but the particle board is basically mush now. Has anyone built a simple plywood drawer box to replace something like this?

Watched my buddy Dave do this for his kitchen junk drawer last year. He used half inch birch plywood, cut the pieces with a circular saw on some sawhorses. Just glued and nailed it together, then slapped the old drawer front back on. Thing's solid as a rock now.

My neighbor Greg built a new drawer from plywood after his kitchen one broke.

Gregges got the right idea. Plywood is way underrated for stuff like this, its cheap and easy to work with. Birch is a good choice for a drawer, it holds screws better than the soft stuff. Honestly, half inch is plenty strong for a kitchen junk drawer, you dont need anything thicker. Your neighbor probably saved himself a decent chunk of cash doing it himself too.
