That $6 tube of glue saved my baseboard project
I was trying to nail some MDF baseboards in my 1940s living room and kept splitting the ends no matter how slow I went. Picked up a tube of construction adhesive on a whim and just glued the last three pieces instead of fighting with the nail gun. Anyone else found situations where glue just works better than fasteners?

Had the same thing with some cheap hollow core closet doors last year. Pre drilled, used the right nails, still split like crazy. Ended up gluing those too and honestly they're holding up better than the ones my buddy screwed in. The glue just fills all the little gaps and sticks way better than hardware ever could in crumbly old wood.

Well shit, sounds like glue is the grown-up version of "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em." Might have to try that myself next time I'm wrestling with some stubborn trim!
