Update: That pasta roller I built from scrap wood decided to become a dough cannon.
I cobbled it together with some old hinges and a rolling pin. First test run, the tension was all wrong and it SHOOT a perfect circle of dough straight into the sink full of dishes. My dog thought it was a new toy and now I'm cleaning up a sticky mess.

Classic DIY tension problems, I mean. Scrap wood can warp over time and throw off the hinge alignment, making it act like a spring. Maybe adding a simple latch or a thicker rolling pin could stabilize the pressure. Idk, my cousin's homemade press did the same thing and we had dough on the ceiling for weeks.

Totally see that happening everywhere, not just with DIY presses. Like when people use old shelves for storage and they sag after a while. Or when a temporary car fix with zip ties comes loose on the highway. It's all about using stuff that isn't meant to last under pressure. We skip the right parts to save time or money, and it bites us later. Your cousin's ceiling dough is just a funny version of a common mess.
