A whole roll of duct tape on a ceiling fan is something. It reminds me of my old apartment where the landlord used a stack of old coasters to level a kitchen table leg. It worked for about a week until the whole thing slid during dinner.

That coaster story from nora_barnes is too real. My buddy tried the same trick with a deck of cards under his couch, which held until his dog zoomied through the room.
