Serious question, how do you even mess up a screenshot this bad?

I tried to take a screenshot of a recipe on my phone last night and ended up with a 3 second recording of my cat's butt instead. My thumb must have hit the record button instead of the home and power combo, and then I cropped it so aggressively it looked like a blobby finger. Learned that I should probably just use the built-in markup tool instead of trying to do it manually like a caveman. Has anyone else had a screenshot fail that made zero sense?

blobby finger" made me lose it because my buddy Dave did something similar last week trying to send me a pic of his new snowboard. He held down the power and volume up so long it triggered the emergency SOS instead. Then he accidentally screenshotted the emergency screen with his thumb all over the lens. I got a blurry photo of his ceiling fan and a 911 call log.

The whole "blobby finger" thing is such a perfect example of how phones just don't get what we're trying to do half the time. It's like they're designed by people who never actually use them in real life, you know? I swear every time I try to take a quick photo my phone decides I'm trying to activate the flashlight or start a voice memo instead. It's this constant battle between what my thumb wants to do and what the software thinks is happening. Makes you wonder if anyone actually tested this stuff with normal people before shipping it.
