Dropped $80 on a risograph drum refill and it changed my whole zine setup

I got tired of running my little home risograph with those old used drums I was picking up for cheap. Figured I'd try one official refill at $80 and see if it was worth the hype. Turns out, the ink flow is way more consistent and I'm not dealing with those ghost streaks on every other page. It basically saved me from tossing a whole run of 50 copies I printed last Saturday because of bad registration. Anyone else take the plunge on official gear or stick with the thrifted parts?

Stuck with the cheap used drums forever and finally caved on a new master roll last month. It was like night and day honestly. The registration was spot on right out of the box and I didn't have to fiddle with the paper feed every fifteen minutes. Saved me from having to reprint a batch of 30 that were all crooked. I get the appeal of saving cash but the consistency is worth it for me when I'm doing runs over 20 copies.

Used to think official gear was a waste of money and the thrifted parts were fine. But honestly after dealing with one too many messed up runs I finally tried a new drum and yeah, it's a whole different ballgame. A lot less babysitting the machine now.
