Finally finished a zine after 4 false starts...

I've been working on this little comic zine about my road trips through Nebraska for like 6 months. Kept getting stuck on the order of the pages, something just felt off. Then I laid everything out on the floor of my apartment and walked around it for 20 minutes, seeing it from different angles. The whole flow finally clicked and I stapled the last copy last night. Does anyone else have weird rituals for figuring out page layouts?

Oh man, I feel this so hard. The floor walk is a classic, actually. I have this thing where I'll print out the pages and then literally tape them up on my wall like a murder board (but for comics, you know?) and then I just sit on my couch staring at it for way too long. Sometimes I'll even take photos of different versions on my phone and flip through them like a slideshow. There's something about physically moving around the work that untangles the brain, I swear. That feeling of the whole thing clicking after months of wrestling with it is the best though. Congrats on finally getting those staples in, that's a real win.

The floor walk trick really does work for getting unstuck on layouts.
