Showerthought: I threw out my first zine from 2021 and it felt good

Found it last week in a box under my bed, this little 8-page thing I made about feeling lost after college. The art was bad, the writing was so cringe, and I stapled it wrong. Three years ago I would have called it a treasure, but now I just recycled it. My new stuff is cleaner and way more honest, not trying so hard to be deep. Anyone else ever ditch their old work instead of keeping it forever?

Oh man, I get that. I found a sketchbook from high school last month and it was brutal. I almost wanted to burn the thing, but the recycling bin felt like a more mature choice. It's like proof you're actually getting better at stuff.

Seriously? @coleman.christopher it's just old drawings. Proof you're getting better, sure. But it's not some deep life lesson. People take this stuff way too hard. It's paper. You recycled it. Big deal. Move on.
