The Portland Zine Symposium made me rethink my whole layout process
I was at the Portland Zine Symposium last year and saw a table where someone had made a zine using just a single sheet of paper folded into 8 pages. I'd always used a 12-page saddle stitch, so this was a big change. It made me realize I could make a whole story with less paper and still have it feel complete. Has anyone else tried making a one-sheet zine and have tips for planning the layout?

You said it's just a different format... but isn't that the whole point? A single sheet forces you to plan every square inch. How do you even start sketching for that, when you know page 4 is upside-down from page 5?

Rethink my whole layout process" seems like a strong reaction to a folded piece of paper. It's a neat trick, but it's just a different format. Your 12-page zines were probably fine the way they were.
