dead set against collage zines" lol i was the same way until i found this one called "concrete jungle" that did a deep dive on brutalist architecture in my city. i always thought those buildings were ugly but the way they framed the photos and the textures made me actually appreciate them. i read somewhere that zines are like a rebellion against perfect instagram feeds and that kinda clicked for me. now i look for weird architecture zines at used bookstores, its a whole new rabbit hole

Huh, do you think it's sometimes more about just wanting to hold something physical in your hands? Like, everything's on a screen these days, so a zine feels like a little artifact you can keep.

Why does everything gotta be a rebellion against something? I'm not saying the architecture zines are bad, just that not every creative choice has to be this big statement against the mainstream. Sometimes people just like cutting up magazines and putting weird stuff together. I've got a buddy who makes these, he's not fighting Instagram, he's just bored on a Tuesday.
