Am I the only one who gets stuck waiting ages for 3D renders to finish?

I was finalizing a client model and the render just would not complete. It ate up my whole afternoon and pushed back my schedule. Any tips to make this faster next time?

Yeah, setting it to run overnight is the only way... I even got a smart plug so my PC turns itself off after the render.

Oh my god, you waited a whole afternoon? That's brutal. I had a simple Blender animation crash after like six hours once and I almost threw my laptop. For client work now I basically render overnight because it always takes way longer than the software says it will. Maybe try lowering some light samples first just to check for errors?

Six hours on a simple animation and then a crash? That's the actual worst. I would have lost my mind. I've had renders fail near the end and it just feels so pointless, like all that time and power just gone. Now I save like every five minutes, it's a whole thing. I totally get just setting it to run overnight and hoping for the best.
