Drew a whole set of floor plans with blocks set to the wrong scale factor

I spent 4 hours laying out a 2,400 sq ft house before I noticed my title block was scaled at 1/8 inch instead of 1/4 inch. My boss walked over and asked why the doors looked like closet doors on the plot. Has anyone else had a scale mismatch mess up their entire sheet?

Same thing happened to me with a 1800 square foot ranch last month. I had all my doors drawn at 3 feet wide but they looked tiny on the sheet because my scale was off. Ended up redoing the whole plan set from scratch because trying to rescale everything just made a mess. Now I always triple check my scale in the layer properties before I draw the first wall.

Pull up a blank template file you know works before drawing anything new. I keep a test.dwg with a 4x4 square and a 6 foot door block at 1:1 scale just to verify my viewport scale before I commit. Saves me from that sick feeling when you pan over and see your 3 foot door is half an inch on paper. Also, set your default scale in the template properties not the drawing setup, because that's what actually sticks when you start fresh.
