Old engineer told me my dimensioning was lazy and he was right

He said I was stacking tolerances by not using baseline dimensions from a single datum. Changed all my drawings that afternoon to pull from the same corner and it cut my error rate way down. Anyone else get chewed out by a senior guy and realize they had a point?

My last boss was the exact opposite, he hated baseline dims because it made it harder to find the critical features at a glance. I started doing chain dims again and my inspection guys actually liked it better.

Stacking tolerances" sounds like my bank account after a night out.
