Used to freehand all my CAD layers, now I'm a template convert

For like 2 years I just made layers on the fly every new project. Felt faster. Then my boss showed me his template with 12 pre-set layers and lineweights all dialed in. Took me 30 minutes to set mine up after that, and now I save at least 2 hours per set. Has anyone else fought switching to templates only to realize it was a no-brainer?

Nah, templates make me feel locked in. Freehand keeps it flexible.

Respectfully, templates actually save flexibility if they're built right. Once you get the logic down for what layers you regularly need, it becomes second nature to just delete the extras. The time saved not having to decide on lineweights mid-draft is huge.
