Hit 500 hours on my dredge pump and it felt like a bigger deal than I expected

I finally passed 500 hours on my main dredge pump last week. I've been running this 6-inch Ellicott for about two years now on a gravel pit job outside of Portland. When I first started I thought I'd swap out the wear parts around 400 hours, but everything still looks pretty good inside. The impeller has some pitting but nothing major, and the liner is holding up better than I figured. It just made me realize how much I've learned about reading the material and adjusting the head pressure to not beat up the equipment. I guess the 500 hour mark felt like proof that I'm not just guessing anymore. Has anyone else hit a run time that made them stop and think about how far they've come in the trade?

Ellicott made the 6-inch 1060 Dragon dredge for years, I ran one on a job down in Coos Bay. Their site might not list it now but they definitely had a 6-inch model in their lineup. You might be thinking of current catalog only, not the older stuff still floating around.

Ellicott doesn't make a 6-inch dredge, think you mean a 6-inch pump on a different setup.
