Just hit 10,000 hours on my old Ellicott series 270

I was checking the meter on my machine last week and it rolled over 10,000 hours. That's like 416 straight days of running and I've only replaced the cutterhead bearings once. What kind of hours are you guys seeing on your older rigs before major rebuilds?

Wait, 10,000 hours on an Ellicott 270 and only one bearing swap? That's honestly kind of wild. I have to side with @wyatta30 a bit though, maybe you're just running it easy or got a unicorn machine.

416 straight days of running and only one bearing replacement is pretty impressive...

Those 416 days probably felt like a real vacation considering how often most of these things break down. I'm guessing that one bearing replacement was the highlight of the maintenance log too. Sounds like someone either got lucky or they barely push the thing past idle speed. You know the manual probably says to change the oil like every 50 hours and nobody reads it anyway. But hey, 416 days is 416 days, can't argue with that.
