Spent $400 on a used flow meter for my cutter suction dredge
It was a gamble from an online auction, but the thing has been a total lifesaver. I was always guessing at my slurry density before, which meant either wasting fuel or losing material. Now I can dial in the pump speed exactly, and I'm saving about 20 gallons of diesel a day. Anyone have a good source for calibrating these older models?

Know that feeling of just throwing money at a problem and hoping it sticks. Had a similar win with a beat up old pressure sensor for my pumps. That kind of gear pays for itself so fast it's almost stupid. For calibration, try reaching out to the original maker, even if the model is discontinued. Sometimes they keep the old test rigs or know a guy who does.

My buddy in Louisiana had a similar win with an old flow meter from a scrap yard.
