Warning: Loose suction hose clamps can ruin your day (trust me)
I nearly flooded my pump room last week because of one that came undone. Now I do a quick visual check before startup (it takes two minutes) and it's already saved me from a huge mess.

Nah, that "quick visual check" sounds like extra busy work to me. If your clamps are put on right the first time, they should hold. Adding a two minute step every single day adds up to a lot of wasted time over a year. Most setups are fine and don't need daily babysitting. You just got unlucky once, but making it a rule for everyone is overkill. I'd only bother if the system was already acting weird.

Look, two minutes is nothing compared to the hours of downtime if a clamp fails and wrecks something. Calling it babysitting is missing the point, it's just basic care for your gear. You're right that a good setup holds, but vibration and temperature changes happen every day, they slowly work things loose. Relying on luck is how you get more "unlucky" incidents, not less. That quick glance is cheap insurance.

Think clamps never slip? @jackson.sage, that's crazy!
